Hoar Frost in Central Otago

It was a frosty morning today in Central Otago.  A hoar-frosty morning.  The first one I've been lucky enough to see and capture a few photos of.  There was an inversion running up the Clutha and as it was clearing it left whiteness in its wake.

Coral Coast, Fiji

I have a few days stopover in Fiji on my way back to NZ from the USA.  If I get around to it I will post some photos from my time in the US, although there are very few to choose from.  Picking up my camera seems to take too much effort these days.  I have carried 2 camera bodies and three lenses around with me and only used one camera and 2 lenses so far.  Murphy's law - if I have them, I don't need them and if I don't carry them, I do need them...  C'est la vie.

Blue skies on the first day, grey skies on the second.  Today, disappearing grey and burgeoning blue.  Happiness is a blue sky.

Autumn in Central Otago

I recently had the good fortune to drive form Dunedin to Wanaka just in time to see the last of the autumn colours.

I stopped at Butchers Dam just outside of Alexandra where the lake was still, clear and reflective.  A very rare occurrence in these parts.  The week before I had driven through and the colours were bright and crisp, they had faded somewhat after the weekends rain, but still beautiful anyway.

I also stopped at Cromwell in time to see this beautiful days end.  Again this stillness of the Dunstan is rarely ever seen.  I think this is the only time I've seen it quite this calm and I've been driving this route for a couple of years now
